Stony Brook Women's Basketball hosts Binghamton this Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Play4Kay/Battle of the UGCs Night! All fans wearing pink to support women’s cancer research will receive FREE admission. Donations will be collected at the door.Stony Brook Athletics will also raffle off another FREE iPad, and Stony Brook University students can earn points for their undergraduate colleges by swiping their IDs at the student entrance. 


FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7TH - BIG RED HOWL 2014: WOLFIE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY - SAC BALLROOM A - 7PM

RHA will having a birthday party themed roller rink to celebrate Wolfie's 19th birthday! There will be a roller rink in SAC Ballroom A, cupcakes, balloon animal making relay, and other activities.

This year, Stony Brook will be celebrating Wolfie's Birthday on Saturday, February 8th during the Stony Brook Men's Basketball game vs. UNH at 2PM. Fans in attendance will receive FREE cupcakes and tasty treats at halftime!

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH - Annual Seawolves Youth Sports Clinic 

Stony Brook University’s Department of Athletics and its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will once again host a National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Sunday, February 9. NGWSD is a day to honor the accomplishments of female athletes and to highlight the benefits of staying active.


To help promote an active and healthy lifestyle, Stony Brook will be holding a Youth Sports Clinic, with registration beginning at 11:30 am and culminating with a women’s basketball game against the University of New Hampshire at 2 pm. The Sports Clinic is open to all girls and boys between the ages of 6 and 13 and will feature Stony Brook student-athletes from many different sports leading the activities.

Check-in on the day of the clinic will be in the Stony Brook University Campus Recreation Center Multiactivity Court. After the clinic, participants will be escorted to the Stony Brook Indoor Sports Complex (adjacent to the Campus Recreation Center) to attend the game.

Representatives from the Summer Camps at Stony Brook will also be on hand to answer questions and provide information about the summer 2014 programs. There will also be information about the new Stony Brook Arena and 2014-15 Seawolves Basketball season ticket packages. To purchase tickets, visit www.goseawolves.org/tickets or call 631-632-WOLF.

Stony Brook Students Mark Your Calendars for SPRING 2014 WOLFIE MASCOT TEAM AUDITIONS!

Can you land the best-paid job on campus? The Stony Brook Department of Athletics is looking for highly energetic and motivated individuals to perform as Wolfie, SBU’s fun-loving, sports-promoting mascot, for the 2014-2015 year. Stony Brook students interested in joining the official Wolfie Mascot Team both at home and on the road must be skilled in dancing and comfortable performing in front of a crowd and interacting with fans of all ages. Mascot experience is not required for those who have other performance experience, but applicants must range in height from 5’10” to 6’ 2” to conform to the costume size.

Apply online by visiting www.goseawolves.org/wolfie and click on “Interested in Joining Wolfie’s Team.” An informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at the Pritchard Lobby located in the Indoor Sports Complex from 1 pm to 2 pm. During the meeting candidates will learn more about this paid position, have an opportunity to ask questions and sign up for an audition time slot.

The tryout is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, at the Indoor Sports Complex Dance Studio from 1 pm to 2 pm.
