Athletics Marketing & Promotions and Ticketing Interns (Unpaid/For College Credit)
Looking for a FUN, INTERACTIVE, and INTERESTING
internship? Are you interested in marketing and sponsorships? Do you have an
interest in sports? Stony Brook University Athletics is looking for qualified
applicants within the Athletic Marketing/Promotions and Ticketing department.
Responsibilities include assisting promotions and marketing for football, men’s
and women’s basketball, and men’s lacrosse; database marketing research,
assisting with group ticket and season ticket sales for all mentioned programs;
coordinating staffing at events; producing promotional and ticket office
informational pieces (ticket ordering, student ticket guide); work with the
athletic communications department to maintain and produce elements for
GoSeawolves.org, the official athletics department website; organizing special
events; responsibilities are subject to department needs. This internship will
provide students with a great opportunity to learn about a college athletics
department and collegiate athletic corporate sponsoring and marketing.
Qualifications
The intern should be personable, proactive, and outgoing
as well as have positive personal characteristics. A basic knowledge of
computers including Photoshop is a plus, however not required. The intern
should also possess a willingness to learn and have a flexible schedule as
hours are based on weekly events and a varying workload.

Athletics Communications Interns (Unpaid/For College Credit)
Looking for a FUN, INTERACTIVE, and INTERESTING
internship? Are you interested in statistics and working on websites? Do you
have an interest in sports? Are you interested in filming and editing video
packages. Stony Brook Athletics is looking for qualified applicants within the
Athletic Communications office. The athletic communications intern will assist
the athletic communications staff with setup and breakdown of equipment,
recording and distributing statistics live and video filming and editing during
official athletics events. The intern will also help archive photos and videos
into a digital catalog. The intern will be working such events as men’s & women’s soccer, football, volleyball and men’s & women’s basketball.
Qualifications
Must be available to work nights and weekends. Must have
a strong interest in sports and working knowledge of collegiate athletics. Must
have strong communication skills. Knowledge of the rules of soccer, football,
volleyball and basketball are a plus. Knowledge of how to work a camcorder and
edit video in iMovie a plus. Willingness to work during winter break 2011-12
also a plus.
